music extravaganza
i recently heard a friend sing for the first time and found an amazing band, so i thought i'd share. mandy oliver who is not only an amazing women, she has an amazing, mazzy starish kind of voice. you can check out her myspace here and her music site here. she's putting on a couple shows in march and i highly recommend checking her out.

the band i found is the refugee allstars. they're a group of musicians who lived for over 6 years in a refugee camp in guinea, west africa. instead of giving up hope - they gave hope to their fellow refugees through their music. they sing songs about injustice, war, greed and they sing for peace in their home country of sierra leone.their story is a universal one, about human suffering, about forgiveness, love, hope and home. check out their main web site here and their myspace here.
