baby questions

what do you mamas keep your house temperature at both during the day and at night? and

what kind of sleeper/blanket do you use?

asher is usually a hot blooded little boy, but lately at night, he wakes up cold. i've been putting him in a fleece sleeper with a fleece blanket sack on top and a fleece hat to sleep in...i'm starting to wonder if our house is too cold. we keep the heat at 64. is that too cold? i can't find any info online about it.

thanks mamas!

I heard 68 was the temp to shoot for. I know right now we sleep with it at 65 at night so we'll have to adjust.
I found this little tidbit at about.com

----In general, most experts recommend that you:

* keep your home at a 'comfortable' temperature of between 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit
* don't over-bundle your baby, but instead consider dressing them with one extra layer than you are wearing yourself and then make sure that your baby doesn't seem overheated

The 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit temperature is likely more for the wintertime when you have the heat on, as that would typically be a little cold in the summer when you have the air-conditioner on. A temperature of 75 to 78 would be more sensible in the summer and more environmentally friendly.

Keep in mind that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that 'the infant should be lightly clothed for sleep, and the bedroom temperature should be kept comfortable for a lightly clothed adult. Over-bundling should be avoided, and the infant should not feel hot to the touch.'1

I agree that somewhere between 68 and 72 is good. We are at the upper end of that. I usually put Noah in a fleece sleeper with a onsie on under it. We also have a humidifier in his room now and that lets off quite a bit of warmth. :-) Good luck! ~Leesa

Gosh, we'd freeze at 64! lol! The a/c is on 76/77 during the day and 78 at night. When it's cold enough for heat, we keep it on 73/74.

kim, lucia sleeps in a footed sleeper and sleep sack, but she's never without a onesie either. that might help keeping asher warm also. hope his good sleeping sticks!
