seriously?

at 6:30 this morning asher woke with the tell tale 'i'm wet' hip thrusts. he was in a disposable! and it wasn't even super soaked. did i mention he was in a disposable?

so, of course i changed him...and of course he went crazy with thrashing and yelling and kicking. ugh. maybe i could find a hose contraption that attaches to his little boyness, that could drain all the urine away rather than use diapers. maybe i should invent something.

i wish i could just change him in the night because this is getting ridiculous. sleeping shouldn't be this rough. and why doesn't it happen during the day or in day naps? why is it happen just at night? i need solutions people. i'm about ready to go buy some depends and duct tape.

My first thought is an absorbancy issue. He might be a super soaker. I would try to put in a doubler - hemp would be best- (super easy to make if you don't want to buy any - but hemp is really hard to find so you might just want to use fabric you have). This might help to slow down the urine giving it time to soak into the diaper before it leaks out the sides.

In the cloth diapers, it could be a number of issues (like the fleece is peeking out the sides, or wicking/repelling issues) but in a disposable that makes me think that it is a super soaking issues. So, you can go to a different brand of diapers that is more absorbent or continue monkeying around with the cloth.

If it were my choice, I would prob. fiddle with the cloth. Because there are more things to adjust before having to invest more money. Let me know if you want help.

Jake went through a phase like that. For a couple of months he would wake up every morning soaked up to his neck. Then all of a sudden he stopped and has been fine since.

I hope the same is for you. I know some people who double diaper for night time.

ugh i can sense your frustration through this post. cloth is so wonderful, but is definitely more of a pain then disposables. with that said, i can't imagine not using cloth, even with the headaches.
i hope you find a solution asap. i know when i had leakage issues, i had to strip my diapers. sounds like your issues are having to do with asher being a really heavy wetter! if you can find a disposable to contain his wetness, don't beat yourself up about using them at night.
right now i'm dealing with odor issues and am running my diaps through 3 hot cycles with dawn and bleach.
