bath time frustrations

Asher has always loved his baths. They've always been so enjoyable with loads of laughs and splashes. It's been great. Since he's learned to stand and now walk though bath time has become walk in the water time. I constantly have to sit him back down. But as soon as I sit him down, he's on all fours or up to standing. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've seen those bathtub seat things...do those work? Or is this a phase that will go away quickly? It's already been 3 weeks of crazy bath time and I'm about ready to just have him go around being a sticky mess!

Suggestions??? Please!

Jake went through a phase like that when he first learned to walk, but now he does a good job staying seated. Hopefully when the newness of walking wears off, bath time will be better again.

i have a bath seat and i really like it. i'm not always on edge waiting to grab lu when she spazzes out. we started with one though, so she's used to it. not sure if asher would like the confinement after he's been free as a bird for so long! that's a tough one, but it might be worth a try. little monkey!
also, please let me know when you plan another little play date. i already have plans for one on friday, but would love to see you soon! i really appreciate the invite and thanks for thinking of me!

Noah did this same thing when he learned to walk. I think its just the newness of walking. I would just be very consistant in sitting him right back down and say "please sit down". We also started doing "showers" instead of baths since it seemed safer at the time. He loves showers. He just sits down in the bottom of the tub with the waterfall on him. Other than that, good luck!

wash him on the go. it's still hard for me to get barend to sit still long enough for a bath, but it never takes me more that a couple of minutes to wash him up :) maybe you can start getting him involved with washing himself up. ask him to help you and while he's busy trying to figure out what to do you can try and get him cleaned up :) i think eventually it'll get a bit easier...even though he'll still want to play even when he's older, he'll understand your need for him to sit still to get washed :)

Once they can stand the bath seats are useless, Hayden kept trying to climb out of his.
